Overview

 

The 2018/2019 school year begins on Saturday, September 8, 2018.

Enrollment for the 2018/19 school year will begin on April 16th.

Our Saturday School program consists of 30 Saturday School mornings per school year from September through May in Menlo Park. Our classes run from 9am to 12 noon (9:00 - 10:15 for Parent & Me and 12:30-13:30 for Adults) and are for students ages 1.5-99+! We have something for everyone!

Many of our students come from a German-speaking background, (i.e. speak German at home, have German speaking parents or have relatives who speak German), while others have no direct connection to the German language and are simply interested in learning German.

To make a long story short, we welcome everyone, with or without prior German language knowledge! We have a wide variety of classes to suit all ages and skill levels and our full immersion concept has proven very successful over the years!

If spaces are available, registration is continuously possible throughout the school year.

Should you decide to join us after the start of the school year, (Sept 8th, 2018) please first contact our office to inquire if space is available for you or your child(ren) and once you receive a confirmation, please only then use the online registration form.

Parent&Me

" The Froggy Group"

New! Come to play and sing with your child in German! This class is for parents and their children. German speakers of all levels are welcome.

Details:

Who: A Parent & Me class for children ages 18-30 months accompanied by their parent/guardian.
         Class will be held in German, some knowledge of German required.

When: Saturdays, beginning Sept. 8th 2018 through Dec 15th, 2018

Time: 9am-10:15am

Location: ALTO International Campus, 475 Pope Street, Menlo Park

Cost/Tuition:$225

Minimum number of participants: 4

Registration Process:

Please go to the Registration Section and complete the required fields in the appropriate tab, "Froschgruppe". Upon completion you will receive an invoice in 1-2 days from our office for the cost of tuition. The full tuition is due on or by the first day of class.

Registration is only complete once we have received the following to items for each child.

  1. Completed registration form
  2. $225 program tuition

Payment Options:

GASPA now only accepts electronic payments for registration fees and tuition (as well as donations).

To keep our expenses low, we only accept electronic checks (ACH bank transfers). Once you have completed the registration form, you will receive an email from “German American School of Palo Altoquickbooks@notification.intuit.com. The email will have a link “View invoice”. Click to view the invoice and follow the instructions to pay. You will have to enter your bank’s routing number and your checking account number. You can find these numbers on your checks.You can also print the invoice or download it as pdf for your records.

Please make sure to enter your account and routing number correctly. Incorrect numbers may result in rejected payment and additional fees.

Tuition Refund Policy: Registration fee, were applicable, is non-refundable. Requests for refund of tuition can only be made in writing to board and management and must be submitted by the third Saturday classes are in session stating reason for refund, and are subject to board approval. After that tuition cannot be refunded, it can only be credited towards other programs offered by GASPA.

Registration is first-come, first-serve. Early registration ensures your child's place.

Pre-K - High School

For over 50 years, GASPA has been offering our ever popular Saturday morning program for students ages 2.5-18.

Our Kindergarten Groups (ages 3-5) are currently full.
Please contact our office directly if you would like to register and be added to our waiting list.

Details:

Who: Students ages 2.5*-18
                (*must be 2.5 yrs or older on Sept. 8th 2018,
                  and accompanied by a parent in class until age 3)

When: 30 Saturdays beginning September 8th 2018, through May 11th, 2019

$150 non-refundable registration fee per child due upon registration.

**Early Bird Tuition prices are valid through May 12 2018. Registration information must be received and non-refundable registration fee must be received by May 12th 2018.

Volunteer Duty*:

At GASPA, each family is required to fulfill three (3) volunteer duties per school year, regardless of the number of children.
For this a volunteer duty deposit of $150 ($50 per duty) will be collected on the first day of school for each family.

Our volunteer duties include; recess supervision, pretzel duty, 1st day volunteers, help for our St. Martin, Winter and Summer Festivals, help cleaning up our supplies in our storage container, etc.

To sign up for volunteer duty, please go to our Sign-Up Genius page. This page will be available, two weeks prior to the first day of school.
There, please sign up for three (3) volunteer duties.  After completing the duties you will receive your deposit back.

Tuition fee as well as the volunteer deposit are due on the first day of school.

Back by popular demand! Do you want to learn German or simply brush up your German skills? This is the class for you!

...And just in case you are wondering, yes, we can help you take care of the kids while you are in class!

Who: Adults, ages 18 and up for beginner and intermediate level

When: Saturdays, beginning, September 8th 2018 through May 11th 2019.         

Time: 12:30  - 1:30pm

Location: ALTO International Campus, 475 Pope Street, Menlo Park

Cost/Tuition: $600 per school year + $50 non-refundable registration fee

Child Care: Need for child care must be received via email no later than 24 hrs before class.   

Minimum number of participants: 4

1-on1 Tutoring

Not quite finding what you are looking for in our other class options? Then this might be just the ticket!

Based on teacher availability, we are pleased to offer 1-on-1 tutoring for all ages starting at the elementary school level. Dates and times are flexible. Lessons can take place at a time and place that works for you and our teacher.

Price: $65 per hour for private lessons (1 student)
          $40 per hour, per student for semi-private lessons (2 students)

When you purchase 10 sessions, you get the 11th free!
